Recently finished this portrait commission of cute couple, Holly and Hamish, as a special wedding gift to them. Client very happy and I understand that H&H were “over the moon” when they received it. A lovely gift idea and thanks for the commission David! Click here to see other portrait drawings.

Re-discovered sketch…Meow Meow!

Portraits in watercolour…thanks to Cherry Hood!
It was a great weekend at Cherry Hood’s workshop and I was thrilled to learn a new way of painting portraits, in particular using watercolours. It was encouraging to be able work in this new way and not have the usual battle of fumes from turps and mediums when working in oils.
These are some images of work from that weekend (portraits of Rose and Agnes) along with a painting post the workshop of Sarah. Many thanks to Cherry for her hospitality in staying on her farm and for all the wonderful teaching over the weekend. Very much the inspiration. And with Winter in full swing, I am very happy to be experimenting with watercolours and enjoying working in a non-toxic environment!
Warm up sketches…for Cherry Hood’s workshop
Some warm up portrait sketches for this weekend’s workshop with Cherry Hood in Towrang. Might need more than sketches to warm up though, I imagine it will be chilly down Goulburn way!
These charcoal drawings are of my two dear little neighbours, Aggie and Rose! xx
